چکیده
Abstract Since the conception of pedagogical agents in multimedia environments, researchers have advocated for to be designed exhibit social cues that prime interaction target audience. One powerful cue has been agent gesturing. While most are created only use deictic (pointing) gestures, there is recent evidence perform all gesture types (iconic, metaphoric, deictic, and beat) with enhanced frequency help foreign language users learn more procedural knowledge. Therefore, this research examines how different frequencies influence persona learning outcomes when declarative The results indicated regardless frequency, significantly increase persona. However, produced conflicting outcomes. enhancing gestures were beneficial cued recall recognition, average condition was not, which indicates strength important.

Declarative Strategies for Agents with Incomplete Knowledge
Definite Agent Logic Programs (definite ALPs), recently introduced by Drescher, Schiffel and Thielscher, provide an interesting alternative to imperative languages like GOLOG for specifying agent behavior. The main advantages of ALPs is that they are fully declarative and independent of the underlying action theory. In this paper we extend the expressiveness of ALPs by introducing nonmonotonic ...
متن کامل“It’s Practically a Must”: Neoliberal Reasons for Foreign Language Learning
This qualitative study analyzes the reasons of college students for learning English as a foreign language (EFL) in Costa Rica and the reasons of high school students for learning German as a foreign language (GFL) in the US. It asks to what extent the learners’ reasons align with or deviate from neoliberal discourses that commodify foreign languages. The analysis of 27 interviews in a US high ...
متن کاملDeclarative Knowledge Updates Through Agents
Cooperative, intelligent agents often share a common knowledge which, in the presence of learning agents, is likely to be subject to change. In this paper, we describe a method to construct specialized agents that incorporate new information into a given body of knowledge. These update agents are based on established methods from logic programming and follow a declarative update policy in order...
متن کاملA Model of “Knowledge Evaluation“ for Foreign Language Distance Learning
The concept of intelligent multimedia systems greatly interests foreign language teachers. The use of computers and networks gives direct access to media that support such communication, and makes the teaching much easier to individualise. Furthermore, individual distance work creates a didactic situation we do not yet know much about , different from the usual direct teacher-student interactio...
متن کاملDoes language shape silent gesture?
Languages differ in how they organize events, particularly in the types of semantic elements they express and the arrangement of those elements within a sentence. Here we ask whether these cross-linguistic differences have an impact on how events are represented nonverbally; more specifically, on how events are represented in gestures produced without speech (silent gesture), compared to gestur...
